Extant (adj)

Here in New York City, today was the third day of the school year for teachers, and the second day of classes. It has been crushingly hot here, and the MTA is as usual a mess. Tomorrow the temperature drops fifteen degrees to a high of 75.

Here is a context clues worksheet on the adjective extant. I think this is a word high school seniors ought to know.
